Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her early roles on Broadway include the shows Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. It was also the time that a Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has worked alongside actors, directors and both screen and stage throughout her entire career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway as a co-star with Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will be the producer and director for the production. Ashford has acted as Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. It's based on an infamous national crime that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal actors. She was part of the cast for two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Other Broadway appearances comprise Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits her days between Los Angeles, and New York.
